Letter no. 4
this week: Stephanie Everett & Lama Rod Owens
This week, I posted my conversation with Stephanie Everett on acting and healing. Stephanie was an elite athlete, but multiple concussions while playing soccer at Dartmouth forced her to shift her priorities and go deeper into acting. We chatted about her journey, her solo show inspired by her story, and the roles she’s taken on more recently.
Also this week, I wrote a reflection inspired by the book Love and Rage by the Buddhist author and teacher Lama Rod Owens. In this reflection, I share a bit on my own relationship with anger, and write about some moments from this week’s road trip from Portland to Sacramento to San Francisco to Palm Springs.
Finally, this week’s creative gratitude is Bob Dylan’s “Last Thoughts on Woody Guthrie,” a 7-minute poem about living a meaningful life Dylan wrote and shared around 1963.
Thanks for reading, much love,
Peter

Interesting reflections this week. I especially liked hearing about your journey from Portland and your discussion on anger. Clearly there is something genetic there since you've witnessed your family's various arguments and squabbles!
